Charlie

This rather lovely watercolour and pastel by Jo Oddie was brought in for framing by the artist. Note the lines near the left-hand and top edges indicating where Jo initially thought the picture should be cropped.

Jo chose a double-window mount. The top mount is called ‘buckskin’ and has a leather-texture finish. The mount has been given a wider bottom-margin which helps to balance the somewhat bottom-heavy feel of the picture. Once she’d chosen the window mount, Jo was able to fine tune the cropping of the picture.

For the frame, Jo chose a plain oak moulding with rounded edges. This was finished with a beeswax polish to protect it from fingermarks and to enhance the grain. The overall size of the frame is approximately 670 mm x 780 mm.
