Fine-art printing

We can print your pictures onto high quality paper or canvas. All the materials used are of archival quality and prints properly framed and looked after should last around 100 years without showing any signs of fading. The maximum print size we can handle in-house is 420mm wide to virtually any length.

The standard print media we use include the following:

Enhanced matte paper

This is a high quality smooth paper capable of high definition and depth of colour. It is particularly good for photographs and drawings. Although prints on this paper would normally be put into a glazed frame, the print can be covered with a protective high-gloss, lustre or matte laminate and mounted in a floater frame.

Premium glossy photo paper

This is Epson's Premium High Gloss paper and is suitable for photographs. We can only print to A3-size on this paper.

Somerset Velvet

This is a smooth paper with a somewhat velvety finish and is well suited to the reproduction of pastels, charcoal sketches and suchlike. It is a mould-made paper and has become one of the standards for giclée printing against which others are measured.

Textured fine art paper

This is a textured paper similar to that used by many watercolour artists and can produce reproductions that are very faithful to the original. Prints on this would normally be framed under glass.

Cotton canvas

This is a true cotton canvas and is popular with photographers and artists alike. As with traditional canvas, prints may be stretched and framed — they can also be overpainted with texturing varnish to reproduce the textures found on original oils or acrylics. Canvas prints can also be bonded to a substrate and framed in a floater frame. In either case they can be protected with a heat-bonded, near-invisible laminate which will protect them from normal wear-and-tear damage or spilled liquids.
